Oceania and East Asia

Regional Manager: Rebecca Boardman

The first missionaries the Society for the Propagation of the Gospel in Foreign Parts (SPG) sent to Australia arrived in New South Wales in 1793. Between 1835 and 1841, the SPG’s presence in this region grew, covering Tasmania, South Australia, Western Australia, Victoria, Queensland and Aotearoa/New Zealand.

Today, USPG has a cherished relationship with the Church of the Province of South East Asia, which covers Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, Indonesia, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam and Nepal. USPG also has relationships with churches in Hong Kong, Korea and Japan.
